U.S. and South Korean recovery teams are searching waters off the Korean Peninsula for wreckage from three U.S. military aircraft that crashed during the Korean War.

U.S. forces have begun flying emergency supplies to earthquake-stricken Japanese island, delivering bottled water to communities with damaged infrastructure, prolonged outages and extreme summer heat.

The general aviation aircraft were safely escorted out of the area by NORAD F-16 fighter aircraft, the command said.
