Veteran‑led and community based organizations nationwide are stepping up to strengthen the connections that support Veterans’ well‑being. These groups provide peer support, reduce social isolation and promote personal wellness through interactions that foster belonging, resilience and purpose.

Their resources create spaces to connect with fellow Veterans, break through isolation and focus on wellness in ways that feel authentic and supportive. Whether it’s sharing stories with someone who’s walked a similar path or joining activities that build resilience and purpose, these programs are designed with Veterans in mind.

Armed Services Arts Partnership

Armed Services Arts Partnership (ASAP) provides free art and comedy classes to Veterans, service members, military family members and caregivers. Classes are taught by Veterans and help fellow participants gain resilience, confidence and connection. ASAP offers an opportunity to develop creative and artistic skills in a supportive, military-connected community. Upcoming classes include playwriting and editorial writing.

Healing Warrior Hearts

Healing Warrior Hearts provides programs for Veterans and their families, which are dedicated to healing the emotional, moral and spiritual wounds of military service. The organization provides a safe, judgment-free space for participants to share their stories and start healing. Its residential and nonresidential retreats help Veterans and their families find peace, healing and connection.

Objective Zero app

The Objective Zero (OZ) app connects Veterans instantly and anonymously to a network of trained peer-support Pathfinders distributed in all 50 states and in 27 countries around the world. The app offers curated health and wellness resources, including guided meditation, yoga and mindfulness training to free or low-cost mental healthcare.

The app’s Bad Day Plan feature helps Veterans, service members, their families and caregivers prepare for difficult moments before they happen. Users can create a personalized plan that includes coping strategies, supportive connections and practical steps for times of increased stress.

Red Star Foundation peer-to-peer network

The Red Star Foundation peer-to-peer network is designed to create a robust and interconnected community of individuals who share common experiences, fostering a sense of belonging, understanding and actionable support.

The online platform serves as a central resource, enabling real-time connections between members, chapters and support services. Features include a member directory, event calendar, resource library and secure forums for sharing stories, advice and support.

Veterans Yoga Project Online Studio

The Veterans Yoga Project (VYP) Online Studio provides free online yoga classes to all Veterans, family members and community members. Its goal is to make the VYP Mindful Resilience practices and yoga techniques accessible to as many Veterans as possible.

Local in-person classes are also available in some states.
